Growth Strategy
Where the next stage of revenue actually comes from, and what it costs to get there. Market and margin analysis, prioritised options, and a plan the leadership team can act on.
Management Consultancy South East Queensland
Ironbark Group Services works with owner-led and mid-market businesses across South East Queensland — helping leadership teams decide where growth actually comes from, what it costs, and how to deliver it without breaking what already works.
01 —About
Deep-furrowed, slow-grown, and dense enough to blunt a saw. It is not a bad standard to hold a business to — and it is the reason for the name.
We work with the businesses that sit in the difficult middle: large enough that a decision carries real financial risk, small enough that the person making it is also running Tuesday. That combination rarely gets served well. Big-firm consulting is priced for a different balance sheet, and generic advice tends to arrive at a level of altitude no one can act on.
Most of our work is deliberately unglamorous. Businesses seldom need a new strategy so much as an honest reading of the one they already have — where the margin genuinely sits, which costs are structural and which are habit, and which of the last three good ideas is actually worth funding this year.
And we don't hand over a deck and leave. Recommendations get built alongside the people who will own them, priced against what they will really cost, and carried far enough into delivery that the change survives contact with a normal week.
A brief that names the choice to be made beats a broad review of everything.
Every recommendation carries the cost, the risk and the assumption it rests on.
The reasoning has to stay in the business once the engagement ends.
02 —Capabilities
Engagements are scoped to one of these, or to a sequence of them. We'd rather do one properly than survey all six.
Where the next stage of revenue actually comes from, and what it costs to get there. Market and margin analysis, prioritised options, and a plan the leadership team can act on.
Finding the cost, delay and rework sitting inside day-to-day operations. Process mapping, capacity and workflow redesign, then measurable improvement targets.
Clear-eyed work on pricing, unit economics, cash flow and capital structure, so the numbers behind a decision are understood before it is made.
Practical environmental and governance work scaled to the business — reporting obligations, supply-chain expectations and efficiency gains that pay for themselves.
Turning a strategy into sequenced, resourced delivery. Governance, milestones and the internal communication that decides whether change sticks.
Board and management reporting that surfaces the right issues early, with risk frameworks proportionate to the size and stage of the business.
03 —Approach
Four stages, in order. The first two are where most of the value is decided — and where most reviews are rushed.
We start with the business as it is, not as an org chart describes it — the numbers, the constraints, and what the people doing the work already know.
The problem gets stated precisely and the scope gets bounded. A brief that names the decision to be made is worth more than a broad review.
Options with costs, risks and trade-offs attached — developed with your team so the reasoning stays in the business after we leave.
Recommendations become owned actions with dates and measures against them. We stay involved as long as that handover needs.
04 —Sectors
The industry matters less than the shape of the problem — cash, capacity, margin and succession look much the same from the inside.
05 —Contact
Tell us what decision is in front of you. The first conversation is a conversation — we'll tell you plainly whether it's something we can help with.
A couple of lines on the situation is plenty to start.
